Day 1- The first day of orientation at the Satellite Center revolved mostly on speeches written and given by the facilitators. These presentations include introductions of each facilitator and the subject they lead teams in. Besides this, the first day involved a very basic introduction to the facility. To finish off the day, my team and I were gathered together for a picture of our first day.
Day 2- The second day of orientation consisted of a plethora of team building exercises. Everyone had one of five schedules for the team building. My schedule had, in this order, Building Block Exercise, The Human Knot, a short talk from a facilitator, and a Marshmallow Building Exercise. The most interesting of the activities was The Human Knot. What we did was stick out hands out, crowd together in a group of several team members, and take someone else's hands and cooperate to undo the knot of people, without letting go of each other's hands.
Day 3- On the third day of orientation, which was the following Monday, the 13th, the team members had to gather in the banquet room and listen to a speech from the superintendent. After this, we went to our workspaces and introduced our selves to the laptops we would be using for the remaining year.
Day 4-Day four was our reflection day. We went over everything we learned about the Satellite Center in the days before. We explained out favorite parts, our least favorite parts, and what we could improve about the orientation. Once that was complete, we went to working on our laptops to attempt to get a start on the upcoming days of work.
